UltraStar Cinemas Joins Effort to Fight Wildfires
Starting January 28th UltraStar Cinemas will proudly share Wildfire Preparedness Public Service Announcements in select theaters across San Diego County. This partnership with the San Diego County Fire Chiefs Association will help residents prepare for the next Wildfire, which could strike at any time. Damon Rubio, Vice President of Operations for UltraStar Cinemas said, "Like many of our guests and employees in these areas, UltraStar Cinemas has seen first hand the danger that wildfires can bring at anytime. As such, we felt it only prudent to use our screens to help remind and educate people of the need for preparation." UltraStar is donating this onscreen time with an estimated value of about$2,500 per week. SDCFCA President August F. Ghio said, "When it comes to saving lives and saving property, the gift to the community is priceless. When residents are educated and prepared, people know what to do before, during and after the threat. These public service announcements will serve as a gentle but effective reminder that now is the time to take action." The following locations will participate in the initial phase of the Preparedness Campaign: UltraStar Poway 10 13475 Poway Rd., Poway, CA 92064 UltraStar River Village 6 5256 South Mission Rd., Bonsall, CA 92003 UltraStar Chula Vista 10 555 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA 91910 The SDCFCA is also grateful to the Burn Institute for supporting this preparedness campaign and to William Wall Productions for donating the creation of the Wildfire Public Service Announcement.
