Tulsa Fire Department responded to a vacant house at 8143 E 14th St on December 20, 2011 at about 3:00 am. The house which had been secured by contractors was broken into. Fire Investigators have determined that it was arson but at this time do not suspect it is related to earlier meth lab fires.

A response by FireFighters to a fire at 2602 E. 10th St., College Park Apartments, was contained to the apartment of origin. The residents were using the burners on the electric range to heat the apartment which ignited a nearby pan with some grease inside. The flames quickly spread through out the kitchen. The apartment is uninhabitable and Red Cross was called to help the displaced family of 2 adults and 3 children.

The Tulsa Fire Department would remind citizens that stoves and ovens are not designed to heat a residence, if you must use alternative heaters make sure they are UL listed and in good operating condition and keep all combustibles at least 3 feet away from a heat source.
