Ventura City Firefighters Attack Vegetation Fire Near Santa Clara River
Ventura City Firefighters investigating a report of smoke rising from the Santa Clara river area south of the Olivas Park golf course discovered a growing fire among the vegetation and was also being fueled by discarded tires and other rubbish on September 10, 2011. The fire was located deep within the river area south of Olivas Park Drive and east of Harbor Blvd. Firefighters put the fire in check quickly however it took several hours to fully extinguish the stubborn fire using water, firefighting foam and hand tools.
