Wildfires Ravage Alberta's Slave Lake
The Canadian town of Slave Lake in the province of Alberta has been under siege by a wildfire that has burned at least 40% of the town including the town hall, main library, the mall and possibly the hospital. Ninety-five percent of the 7,000 people who live in the town have heeded the mandatory evacuation orders. Firefighters from Edmonton, British Columbia and Ontario are headed to the area to help bring the unchecked blaze under control.
