The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund is currently traveling across the country in the southern states to donate a piece of World Trade Center Steel to the San Diego Firehouse Museum in remembrance of the 10th year of 9/11/2001.

The steel is from Tower 2 and is an inter-core beam. It weighs 120lbs and is 24.5 inches wide x 14.5 inches high.

Four firefighters, and the 13 year old son of one of the drivers, are driving the piece of steel in a fire engine donated to fund for the trip by Ferrara Fire Apparatus.

On Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:30 am this piece of steel from the World Trade Center will be escorted by approximately 75-100 motorcycles; representing the Louisiana State Troopers, NOPD, Red Knights, Blue Knights and the Patriot Guard Riders to NOFD's 3rd District Headquarters (E-27).

The "World Trade Center Steel Escort" has been traveling across the country and on Friday morning the NOFD will be hosting a ceremony to honor our brothers and sisters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
