Grass Fire Ignites in Yuba County
Winds from 20 to 40 mph coupled with temperatures in the 90's fanned a grass fire in Olivehurst, California Monday. The fire burned approximately 800 acres and was 100 percent contained Monday afternoon with crews still tending to hot spots. The fire forced the closure of the Yuba County Airport for nearly four hours as it ripped through the area. It also prompted voluntary evacuations at it threatened some commercial structures. No buildings were lost and no injuries were reported. South of this area, the National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for gusty winds and low humidity for the East Bay Hills and Diablo Range in the San Francisco area until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
