Betty White’s lifelong dedication to protecting wilderness and wildlife was recognized today when the U.S. Forest Service proclaimed her an honorary forest ranger.
Burn Scheduled for San Diego's East County

If you see smoke in the eastern portions of San Diego County on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 9th and 10th, don't run to dial 911. As part of their ongoing Vegetation Management Plan, the CAL FIRE San Diego Unit will be burning brush piles on the Corte Madera Ranch south of Pine Valley, California.
Scott Fire in Reche Canyon 60 Percent Contained

The Scott Fire in the Reche Canyon section of Colton, California is 60% contained as of 6 p.m. this evening, according to CAL FIRE. The 125 acre fire began this afternoon at Reche Canyon Road and Scotch Lane, and at one point 500 structures were threatened.

Forest Service Extinguishes Human Caused Fire at Rogers Camp

On Monday, a report of a wildland fire near Rogers Camp was responded to by Tulare County Fire Department and Sequoia National Forest personnel. A private citizen had lit several hand piles on fire and left them to burn on their own. The hand piles left burning were on public lands managed by the Forest Service, Western Divide Ranger District.
