Kern County Firefighters Battle Wofford Heights Brush Fire

On Monday September 20th at 3:56 P.M., acall was received for a grass fire at the rear of homes in the 200 block of Bristlecone in Wofford Heights. Approximately 70 firefighters responded to the incident from Kern County Fire Department, USFS and BLM.
Canyon Fire 100 Percent Contained

As of Monday morning, the Canyon Fire burning west of Lake Isabella, California is 100 percent contained. The fire, which began on Sunday, September 12, 2010 burned 9,820 acres and cost a total of $11.25 million to fight.

Two fires continue to burn in Colorado. The Four Mile Canyon Fire burned 6,181 acres west of Boulder but is 100 percent contained. The Reservoir Road Fire has burned 740 acres and is 65% contained.
