Virginia Fire Department’s Deploy Eighteen Firefighters to Rockbridge County for Wildland Fires

Southside Fire Departments, to include Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Suffolk have deployed firefighters and equipment to Rockbridge County in response to a request for assistance in containing and extinguishing a large wildfire that is burning out of control.

The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) is issuing an air quality notice for Hillsborough County. This is to notify the public of elevated pollution in the air due mainly to the wildfires burning in the northern part of Florida.
Outdoor Fires Prohibited In The City of Madison, Wisconsin

The City of Madison Fire Department is prohibiting the use of outdoor fires until weather conditions change. Approved outdoor fireplaces and fire pits shall not be used. Prairie and/or natural lawn burns, even those with a permit from the City of Madison Fire Department, shall not be conducted.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in cooperation with Riverside County Habitat Conservation Agency (RCHCA) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will be conducting hazard reduction pile burning south of the intersection of Cajalco and La Sierra in Riverside County on the Estelle Mountain Reserve (Thomas Bros 774-G5).

The amount of water used during a fire when a building has a sprinkler system is less than that of an unsprinklered building, according to “Fire Flow Water Consumption in Sprinklered and Unsprinklered Buildings: An Assessment of Community Impact,” a new report released by the Fire Protection Research Foundation.
