| IAFF Succeeds in Easing Normal Retirement Age Regulations
4/24/2012 2:05:28 PM The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced April 18, 2012 that it has agreed to overhaul proposed regulations that would have created significant problems for many public sector pension plans. Under the original regulations, all public sector pension plans would have been required to specify a “Normal Retirement Age,” and would not have been allowed to define retirement based on years of service or a combination of age and years of service. |

Nappi, Engine 237, a 17-year veteran of the FDNY who suffered an apparent heart attack while battling a three-alarm fire the same day in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Lt. Nappi, who lived in Suffolk County and leaves behind a wife and two children, was 47 years old.
