On Saturday, March 31, 2012 during the eight o'clock hour, rescuers were called to Harriet Lake on second hand information of a small fishing boat that had capsized with two adult males on board.

CAL FIRE Investigators have determined the January 8, 2012 Lawler Fire was sparked by a deep seated ember from a department hazard reduction burn pile. The hazard reduction project included the burning piles of brush cuttings that had been cleared to provide defensible space around the community of Pine Cove by CAL FIRE.

On Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:06pm, the Clark County Fire Department responded to multiple calls of a structure fire in a home located at 10606 Eagles Nest Street in Nevada. The home is located in Southern Highlands, off Southern Hills Parkway, north of the intersection of Somerset Hills Avenue.

To provide this week’s update I had the privilege of visiting and spending some time with Kevin O’Toole at Medstar Washington Hospital Center on Thursday. Kevin had just completed a physical therapy session and was sore and in obvious pain.

On March 27, 2012, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors appointed Deputy Chief Mark Lorenzen, 48, as the new fire chief for the Ventura County Fire Department. Lorenzen, a 21-year veteran of the department will begin his duties on March 30.

During a formal swearing-in ceremony at Portland’s City Hall this morning, Portland Fire & Rescue appointed Joshua Sperl to the position of Fire Lieutenant. The ceremony was witnessed by Portland Division Chiefs, other Fire Bureau personnel, and family members.
