Abilene Duplex Catches Fire Due to Air Conditioning Unit

At approximately 4am on May 3, 2012, a call was placed to 911 for a structure fire in 1400 block of Cottonwood St here in Abilene, Texas. Fire personnel arrived on the scene to find a Duplex fully involved with smoke and fire on one side.

At approximately 1:17 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, Rancho Cucamonga Firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire at a high precision machine shop in the 10700 block of Edison Ct. in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
San Bernardino County Firefighter Injured Battling Blaze

The male occupant of the home woke to the faint smell of smoke. When he got up to investigate, he noticed smoke and followed the smoke trail to the garage. As a precaution, the man placed the back of his hand on the garage door, felt the heat and immediately woke his wife and exited the home safely.
Downtown Las Vegas Apartment Fire Injures Three People

Two young children and their mother were injured when their downtown apartment caught fire on April 30, 2012. Two adults and three children were home when their upstairs apartment caught fire. The fire displaced a total of twelve people that live in the apartment building.
NFPA Commends Massachusetts for New Electric Vehicle License Plates

Emergency responders in Massachusetts will now have another way to easily identify electric and hybrid vehicles. Massachusetts has become the second state to unveil a new license plate for hybrids and electric vehicles, a move that aligns with the goals with the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Electric Vehicle Safety Project.

HIV Presumption Passes Unanimously in Tennessee

After nearly three years of lobbying, the Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association (TPFFA) scored a huge victory when its HIV presumption legislation unanimously passed the state House and Senate. Effective July, it will be Tennessee’s only statewide presumption law.
