3 Fire Departments Honored for Excellence in Emergency Medical Services by MedicAlert Foundation & CFSI

The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and the MedicAlert Foundation recognized the innovation and leadership of three fire departments with the Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Award at the 24th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on April 26th, 2012 at the Washington Hilton. The honorees were the Mesa (AZ) Fire and Medical Department, Selden (NY) Fire Department and Center Point (AL) Fire District.

Hope Hose Humane Co. #1 in Bordentown, NJ was recently presented with a refurbished Panasonic Toughbook CF-19. The receipt of this Toughbook was through a need-based program offered on a quarterly basis by Bob Johnson’s Computer Stuff in Smyrna, DE.
Green Bay Fire Department Attacks 3 Separate Blazes

The Green Bay Fire Department responded to three separate fires on Green Bay’s East side from approximately 3:30am-5:30am on April 26th, 2012. The first fire occurred in a three unit apartment building located at 1419 N. Clay Street. A Molotov cocktail was found at the scene of this fire in a bedroom on the first floor.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to a barbecue grill explosion on April 27th, 2012 that resulted in injuries to an adult and infant at 2159 Enfield Circle near Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards in Clark County, Nevada.
Two Year Old Falls from Second Story Window in Tigard

At 6:44 p.m. on April 21, 2012, firefighter/paramedics from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Station 51 responded to reports that a two-year-old girl had fallen from a second story window at 8545 SW Florence Court in Tigard, Oregon.

At 10:40 am on April 23, 2012, a train hit a heavy equipment hauler (low boy) knocking it's contents off of the trailer. The driver of the trailer was intending to cross Sandy Blvd. at 142nd when the train clipped the back end.

Lakewood, Washington Man Drowns in Steilacoom Lake

Around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, West Pierce Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a water rescue at 9831 Lake Steilacoom Drive SW. Reports came in of people in the lake screaming. Upon arrival, West Pierce divers went into the water and recovered a mans body. The other man with him was found safely on the shore.
Tulsa Fire Department & Oklahoma Task Force 1 to Conduct Swift Water Training

The Tulsa Fire Department and Oklahoma Task Force 1 will be conducting Swift Water Rescue Training at Skiatook Lake Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. The training will involve several of the “Rescue Boats” used by TFD and OKTF1 during actual swift water rescue incidents.
