The Memphis Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 427 Delta Road, Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1:23 a.m. Upon arrival on the scene at 1:27 a.m., firefighters reported smoke visible from the one story wood-frame residential structure. Rescue and Firefighting operations began immediately.
Prince George's County Career Firefighter Recruit School #45 to Start

Prince George’s County Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department Career Recruit School (CRS) commenced today with 27 students. Career Recruit School #45 will receive months of training, however, not nearly as long as previous recruit schools.

Kauai Fire Department Recovers Body of Adult Female in Ocean

The Kaua‘i Fire Department (KFD) has recovered the body of an adult female who is believed to have been swept into the ocean at Hanakapiai yesterday afternoon. The body, which was spotted by a tour boat, was found in waters roughly four miles west of Hanakapiai.

Quick Thinking of Resident Aids Firefighters & Escape from Portland Fire

A resident of the home located at 16223 NE Foster in Portland, Oregon went into the basement and noticed the door handle into the bedroom was warm; the door was opened a small amount and "flames shot out" from the room. The resident then slammed the door closed and evacuated the structure.
One Patient Discovered While Portland Firefighters Respond to Blaze

Southeast Portland fire stations responded to a residential structure fire early this afternoon. Crews from Portland Fire Station 25 (Woodstock) arrived on scene in under two minutes.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow that the IAFF reports the loss a dedicated union member, affiliate leader and advocate of human relations. Lieutenant David D. Pulliam Sr., 65, a member of Richmond, VA Local 995, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from lung cancer.
