Brush Fire Burns Ten Acres in Chatsworth
Firefighters from three different departments responded to a Major Emergency Brush Fire in Chatsworth, California Thursday afternoon. The fire broke out just past 3:00 p.m. just north of State Route 118 near Topanga Canyon Boulevard. When crews arrived, the fire was burning uphill in light to medium brush and heading to nearby homes, according to Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The LAFD, Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) and the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) conducted a well coordinated air and ground assault and kept the fire to just over 10 acres of grass and brush.
