Firefighters and Police Officers Participate in the American Red Cross Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

Firefighters, police officers, and other first responders and civil service agents joined forces throughout Southern California to donate blood to the Southern California Chapter of the American Red Cross during the 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive. This regional event took place in over 50 Southern California municipalities between January 20th and February 2, 2009 and involved members of the US Probation Office, Secret Service, DEA, and Boarder Patrol in addition to police officers, firefighters and EMT’s. FDNNTV.com's Barbara Brooks joins the Chino Valley Fire Protection District, Chino Police Department and Chino Hills Police and Sheriff's Department as they donate to this worthy cause.

Burn Institute to Honor Heroes at 40th Annual Spirit of Courage Awards Banquet

On Thursday, May 24th the Burn Institute will recognize the positive people that make a difference in the lives of others as the organization celebrates 10 local heroes at its 40th Annual Spirit of Courage Awards Banquet. Each year, the Burn Institute pays tribute to individuals in the community who have risked their lives in an effort to save another from burn injury or death by fire. Over the past four decades, nearly 650 local heroes, including civilians, fire service and law enforcement professionals, have been honored with the highly-coveted award.
