O'Sullivan's Irish Pub in Carlsbad, California hosted a Halloween party unlike any other. The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund of California held a Halloween fundraiser to raise money for fallen firefighters and their families. Everyone in attendance dressed in costumes. "You're allowed to have fun while you're doing charity events, right?" asked Mike, an Escondido firefighter who dressed as Satan. "So we do this a couple times a year here at O'Sullivan's. They're our home base for the Terry Farrell Fund in Southern California." All the money raised goes to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund of California. Although there was no cover charge to attend the event, many people bought raffle tickets to support the cause and win great prizes. The winner of the costume contest was Mike in his Satan outfit. He received a $500 check, which he then donated back to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund of California in full. The Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund was established in 2002 by the family of Terry Farrell, who was both a member of FDNY Rescue 4 and the Fire Chief of the Dix Hills Volunteer Fire Department and perished at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Through public and corporate donations, the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund has been able to provide families of fallen firefighters across America with educational scholarships and money for medical needs. The organization also uses the money they raise to provide underfunded fire departments with the fire apparatus and equipment that they need. Every dollar raised goes directly to a needy fire department or fire service family. Author:Deanne Goodman - FDNNTV.com
