Win a Special Edition Harley Fat Boy

Pierce Manufacturing and Harley-Davidson have partnered with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) to raise money for NFFF survivor programs through the raffle of a one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Firefighters Special Edition Motorcycle. With a $10.00 online donation, those visiting the NFFF Full Throttle website will be entered for a chance to win this beautiful bike.

Motorcycle Design Concept

The design and assembly of the unique motorcycle was the combined effort of both Pierce Manufacturing and Harley-Davidson. According to Steve St. Thomas of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the bike was based on the current Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Special Edition Motorcycle, and special parts, chrome and accessories were added to it to customize it for the NFFF Full Throttle Support campaign. According to Chief Ron Siarnicki, the Executive Director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, "It was specifically outfitted with decals, logo painting, and a special trim package by Pierce, so it's truly a joint effort. So the bike was built by Harley, but then the components were shipped to Pierce's plant to do some of the touch-up and some of the uniqueness in the detailing."

NFFF, Harley-Davidson, and Pierce Manufacturing Partnership

The partnership between the two companies and the NFFF came about when Pierce and Harley-Davidson began discussing the creation of a special edition bike. According to Steve St. Thomas of Harley-Davidson the fit between the two companies was natural, as they are both Wisconsin-based corporations that are leaders in their respective industries, they produce high quality products, and they are both dedicated to innovation and customization. The companies agreed that the best way to partner on the production of a special edition motorcycle would be to involve the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. About this, Jeff Resch, Pierce's Vice President of National Sales, says, "We went to Harley-Davidson and we asked 'Do you want to partner up in this cause?' They said 'Absolutely. We want to be a part of this.' They thought it was phenomenal for all the right reasons. So between Harley-Davidson and Pierce Manufacturing we're using both of our input into our customer base to get the word out about the bike and the sweepstakes to raise money for the NFFF."

Donations Benefit National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

All of the money collected for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation through this campaign will go towards the funding of the NFFF's survivor programs. It will assist with scholarships for the spouses and children of firefighters who have died in the line of duty to provide them with education or to receive job-related training. It will also pay for trips for these families to attend the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend activities in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Chief Siarnicki says that one first responder dies every 72 hours in the United States, and the NFFF helps their families to get through this difficult time.

Learn About the NFFF

About the NFFF, Chief Siarnick says, "The best thing you can do is learn all about the foundation. What I like to do is to tell people to come as an educated consumer. There are a lot of great charities out there. There are a lot of people that are doing good things. I think that you can learn who the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is and what we are about. It will make a difference in our way of compelling you to be involved with us."
