Residents Affected by Schultz Fire Allowed Home
This morning, evacuation orders were lifted for residents affected by the Schultz Fire burning north of Flagstaff, Arizona, according to Cococino County Sheriff Bill Pribil. The fire that began Sunday has grown to 14,000 acres and is 20% contained, according to InciWeb. The fire has moved into lands administered by the Cococino National Forest including parts of the Kachina Peaks Wilderness. The wildfire is under the management of Dugger Hughes's Southwest Incident Management team. There are 947 personnel on the fire aided by seven helicopters of varying sizes, 62 engines and seven water tenders. Crews plan to build approximately 10 miles of line today, primarily on the west side of the fire. Line construction will continue on the south, southeast and north flanks of the fire. According to InciWeb, the eastern side of the fire remained secure overnight and firefighters will continue to patrol and mop up.] Highway 89 remains open but delays are expected due to poor visibility and lane restrictions.
