Challenges of Prehospital Endotracheal Intubation (ETI)The Prehospital Endotracheal Intubation Procedure has been a topic of hot debate over the past several decades. While it is an important life-saving technique, many in the EMS field are concerned about its implementation, as it is a difficult procedure to perform successfully and a mistake can lead to loss of airway clearance or tissue damage. In developing the IntuBrite Hyper Visualization System Captain Tenger recognized that one of the problems that first responders have encountered in ETI was that the laryngoscopes on the market did not allow for the accurate visualization of the vocal chords. He then set out to research what would improve an EMS technician's view of the patient's airway and vocal chords. IntuBrite Hyper Visualization System Offer Solution to ETI ChallengesThe IntuBrite Hyper Visualization System has been received in the EMS community with much praise. The set comes with a specialized Laryngoscope Blade in ten sizes and assorted styles, a Phosphorescing Stylet Guide, an Ergonomic Perfect Position Handle, and a Long Life 4.5 Custom Power Cell. Demonstrating how to use the system, IntuBrite Training Manager John Tenger explains, "I have my unit on. I am going to place the laryngoscope blade, do my tongue sweep. I am going to enter the patient's mouth. I will grab my ET tube with my stylet, and I'm going to pass it through the vocal chords. The entire time I am seeing the vocal chords and ET tube pass through knowing that I am in the trachea."
